Housing 21 has produced a new policy on Hate Crime, and we need our residents’ feedback.
This policy is now a requirement of the Regulator of Social Housing. The policy has been created with the support of Stop Hate UK and Positive About Inclusion.
Previously, we have dealt with Hate Crime through our Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) processes, however, this dilutes the understanding of the specific and distinct levels of hostility faced by people who hold a characteristic under Hate Crime legislation (age, disability, gender reassignment/transgender identity, race/colour/ethnicity, religion, sex and sexual orientation).
We want to hear your thoughts
Before the policy goes to our Policy Steering Group, we would like your views. We will be hosting a short session via MS Teams to review the policy for you to join, or alternatively, have a read and share your thoughts with your scheme manager or via email.
To see the draft version and join the discussion, please speak to your scheme manager, or email Vera Deacon, Project and Change Officer: vera.deacon@housing21.org.uk.
We look forward to hearing from you.
