At Housing 21, our goal is to create a supportive and respectful environment for everyone.

To help us achieve this, we are pleased to introduce our new Unacceptable Behaviour Policy effective immediately.

This policy has been created with support from our Extra Care and Retirement Living Forums and ensures that all interactions remain positive and respectful, allowing us to continue providing the best possible service to all residents. We recognise that at times, communicating effectively might be challenging, especially during moments of distress. Therefore, we are committed to making reasonable adjustments to support you.

Key points of the policy include:

- Definition of what constitutes unreasonable or unacceptable behaviour

- Measures to address aggressive, abusive or harassing behaviour

- Guidelines on managing unreasonable demands and persistent behaviours

- Steps we will take to manage unacceptable behaviour and maintain a safe community

Our dedication to a safe and inclusive environment means we will address any issues promptly to protect both residents and our committed employees.

The new policy will be displayed on your scheme notice board, but please ask your scheme manager if you require this in an alternative format, e.g. a different language or large print. The policy will also be made available on the Resident Information section on our website.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping maintain a positive community atmosphere.
