Queens Park is just 10 minutes’ walk away and was voted ‘best park in Britain’ a few years ago. The Roch Valley Way nature reserve is a few minutes away and offers many pleasant walks. The East Lancashire Railway Centre is a five minute car ride away and runs weekly steam trains and holds special events throughout the year.
Buses run every 10 minutes from a stop just five minutes’ walk from the court. Manchester city centre is half an hour’s drive or 40 minutes away by bus while Bury and Rochdale are both a short bus ride away. The area has a ring-and-ride service which residents can use and there are a number of reliable taxi firms offering fixed rates for trips to hospitals, the airport and other town centres.

This friendly court has an informal residents committee which organises a wide range of events in the cheerful surroundings of the communal lounge; regular opportunities to get together include coffee mornings and bingo, day trips are also on the agenda and Corcoran Close has attractive landscaped gardens where residents can sit and relax in fine weather.
The court is conveniently located just five minutes from the bustling town centre and there are excellent transport links from Heywood into the wider area. The main street has a variety of independent shops, supermarkets, sandwich shop, and post office.
