Local buses stop at the court and provide regular services to Crediton and the surrounding area. There is also a hospital bus service which can be booked in advance. The nearest railway station serves locations between Exeter and Barnstable and provides access to the wider region and beyond. Musical events and car boot sales are regularly held in the town square.
Clifford Gardens is situated on a hill and there are steps around the court making it suitable for more mobile residents. The court has a residents’ lounge with a small library stocked by Devon Library Services, a laundry, guest room and ample parking spaces.
The gardens have large lawns, with flower borders, mature trees and bushes. Some of the residents enjoy maintaining the borders and hanging baskets. There are many wildlife visitors to the gardens including a variety of birds and occasional squirrels and foxes.

Clifford Gardens has a comfortable communal lounge and an informal residents group plans activities. Green fingered residents are also welcome to help with maintaining the flower beds and hanging baskets.
Crediton holds a monthly farmers’ market and has a good range of local shops and services including several supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and a doctors surgery. A dentist, post office, several banks, churches and a cottage hospital can also be found there.
