There are two attractive gardens, one of which boasts two fish ponds and a pleasant seating area for residents to relax. Green-fingered residents are welcome to get involved with gardening if they chose. The gardens attract plenty of wildlife for residents to enjoy, including hedgehogs, frogs and squirrels.
Residents are welcome to use the facilities of nearby Churchill Lodge, including guest rooms for visiting friends and family.
The high street offers a good range of local amenities including several supermarkets, banks and a post office. There is also a dentist, optician, doctors surgery and chemist, as well as a number of churches. There are a number of pubs and restaurants nearby and the court is just a short drive from swimming pools, boating lakes and parks.
Buses run regularly from the centre of Barkingside and the town boasts three train stations, all offering direct routes to London. Residents can also choose to use a dial-a-ride service and reliable taxi service to get around.

The larger town of Ilford is a 20-minute bus ride away, where residents can enjoy its lively centre with major stores, cinemas, restaurants, cafés and pubs. It is also home to the Kenneth Moore Theatre.
