Buses run every 10 minutes into the centre of Sheffield from a stop just outside the court, or there is a dial-a-ride service which residents can use to get to the local supermarket. Woodhouse has its own train station providing links to the surrounding towns and villages.

The residents social group organises a wide range of social activities in the comfortable, bright, communal lounge; these include armchair aerobics, bingo sessions, coffee mornings, games afternoons, fundraising events, trips out and seasonal parties. The maintained gardens attract a variety of wildlife and provide an ideal opportunity for outdoor relaxation in warm weather.
There are several larger supermarkets in the area and a retail park just over three miles away. The Rother Valley Country Park is nearby and offers many pleasant walks for residents to enjoy.
