Banbury is a thriving town with plenty for visitors to enjoy on the edge of the Cotswolds and has many old establishments and the Banbury Cross is at its heart. The new canalside development with ‘The Light’ multiplex cinema, bowling, climbing wall, karaoke, bars and restaurants and the ‘Castle Quay’ shopping centre in which you can find ‘Lock 29’ with stalls and street food which are worth visiting. The first weekend in October sees ‘Canal Day’ The town hosts several events throughout the year including a popular canal day where narrow boats visit from all over the country. There are two parks close by and a leisure centre with swimming pool, a cinema and a small local arts centre which holds plays and music nights.
There is a small street market on Thursdays and Saturdays and a farmers market once a month.
Out of town is the larger retail park, Banbury Gateway which is just off the M40 at junction 11
Amos Court has a range of on-site facilities including a communal lounge where activities are held, a laundry, two guest rooms and a residents’ car park.
The court is proud of its beautiful and well-maintained gardens, which are mainly planted by the green-fingered residents and which won a local gardening award five years in a row.

Amos Court has a range of on-site facilities including a communal lounge, laundry areas, guest rooms and car park.
The scheme has an active residents committee who arrange coffee mornings, afternoon tea, keep fit sessions and scrabble afternoons. Along with our Knit and Natter group (more nattering than knitting!) we also have a fish and chip lunch and bingo once a month. A hairdresser comes in every Wednesday, so another chance for coffee and a chat.
Being an open scheme many residents have their own piece of garden to look after and a regular gardener attends for cutting grass, pruning and the other jobs that residents can’t manage
The town has a range of larger supermarkets and major high street stores, as well as independent shops, doctors surgeries, dentists, banks and churches. There are also cafés, pubs, restaurants, social clubs, a library and a post office.
