The community in Wirral came together to celebrate Housing 21’s 60th anniversary at Retirement Living scheme, Maurice Jones Court. 

The Local Housing Manager at the scheme along threw a party to remember for residents and local VIPs which included Police Community Support Officers from the Local Policing Neighbourhood, Mayor of Wirral Councillor Cherry Povall JP, The Mayoress of Wirral Sheila Clarke MBE and Councillor Angela Davies.  

Residents enjoyed a selection of party games with a raffle prize and indulged in delicious food which included a selection of cakes.  

Wirral Police posted a message on Facebook congratulating Housing 21 on the celebrations: “We would like to pass on our congratulations to Housing 21 and Maurice Jones Court for this tremendous achievement!”  

Residents at the Retirement Living scheme enjoy spending their days growing their own vegetables and gardening. The scheme has well-maintained gardens full of flowering plants and shrubs which the residents are very proud of. 

The scheme also has a range of onsite facilities including a large communal lounge, kitchen, hairdresser and guest room.  

Local Housing Manager at Maurice Jones Court, Sarah Ashcroft said: “We had an amazing day celebrating Housing 21’s 60th anniversary. 

“The residents really enjoyed themselves; we would like to say a huge thank you to the community for all their support and for joining in with our celebrations.”  

Maurice Jones Court is a friendly and welcoming development just a short walk from the lively village of Moreton, near Birkenhead in Wirral.
