Robert Allan Court in Newcastle-upon-Tyne was buzzing with excitement as residents and employees came together for a fun-filled afternoon of fundraising—all in support of St Oswald’s Hospice.

The scheme owned and operated by Housing 21, hosted coffee and cake for all to enjoy along with a raffle and games with all donations dedicated to making a difference. Together £289 was raised which residents later presented to the charity.

Jen Scott, Local Housing Manager at the scheme said: “St Oswald’s is a local charity that is close to our hearts as they have given our friends amazing support over the years.  We’re thrilled to be able to offer them this donation as a token of our thanks.

We host two charity fundraisers at our scheme per year and as a St Oswald’s fundraising volunteer myself, residents are keen to support and dedicate a fundraiser to them.”

The hospice is local to the scheme and relies on funding for its services. Residents are passionate to give back as many of their friends, family and other residents at the scheme have received end of life care from them.

The Retirement Living scheme consists of one and two bed properties which offer residents the opportunity to live independently. The scheme is located in Brunswick village, near to the city of Newcastle, and has a range of on-site facilities including a laundry room and communal lounge.
