We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II on Thursday 8 September.
Remembered for her strong sense of duty and dedication to her people, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning monarch in British history in 2015. The celebrations for this year's Platinum Jubilee highlighted that dedication and showed just how revered she was, not just in the UK and Commonwealth, but around the world.
Many of our residents at Housing 21 had the honour of receiving letters from the Queen to mark momentous occasions such as 100th birthdays, and they thoroughly enjoyed celebrating jubilees throughout the years. Some of our schemes have already created tributes to Her Majesty, sharing stories and memories, and reflecting on her long reign.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family and everyone mourning Queen Elizabeth II. Her legacy will be remembered for years to come.
To mark the Queen’s funeral, we will be observing Monday 19 September as a Day of National Mourning and our offices and switchboard will be closed.
