The new Retirement Living scheme for older people in Huyton, Knowsley has officially been named as Pomeroy Court.
Housing 21 held a Naming and Topping Off Ceremony at Pomeroy Court, marking a significant milestone in the construction process bringing together key stakeholders. Representatives from Alderley Group, Vextrix and Knowsley Borough Council came together to celebrate the progress of the build.
The scheme will comprise 40 one- and two-bedroom apartments, all of which will be available to rent for local older people in Huyton. Pomeroy Court is being delivered by Housing 21, a national leading provider of Retirement Living and Extra Care, in partnership with Complete Construction and Vextrix.
Laruen Adshead, Senior Delivery Development Manager at Housing 21, said: “We are pleased to have named Pomeroy Court. We look forward to continuing to work closely with our partners as we near the completion of a much needed, 40-unit Retirement Living development.”
Kelly Smith, Operations Manager – Merseyside at Housing 21, said: “We are delighted to be delivering our first Retirement Living scheme in Knowsley.
Pomeroy Court will support people to live independently within the community, as well as provide them with a safe and supportive environment to call home.”

The Retirement Living scheme will enable residents to live independently in their own apartment with access to a spacious residents’ lounge, gardens, buggy store, and an on-site Local Housing Manager to help on hand with any queries.

Dale Milburn, Knowsley Council’s Executive Director for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “The Knowsley Housing Strategy 2022-27 recognises the demand for more Retirement Living options in the borough. The development of Pomeroy Court in Huyton supports this Strategy and builds on the progress made in recent years in delivering more Retirement Living options for our residents, working with Registered Providers like Housing 21.”
