The celebrations were in full swing as Housing 21 employees scooped four awards at the Housing with Care Awards on Friday, 7 June.
The ceremony took place at the Hilton Bankside in London where employees from across the organisation received nominations from their peers.
The awards were conducted by Care Talk magazine to recognise and celebrate excellence in accommodation and services for integrated communities.
Housing 21 was named as the winner in the following categories:
The Housing with Care Employer Award- this award recognises an employer who has invested in their buildings, services and their employees to offer quality housing for older people.
The judges praised Housing 21 as an employer: “Housing 21 exemplifies the best qualities of outstanding employers. They balance care for staff and residents, beyond employment, they act as supportive mentors, always willing to go the extra mile. Their unwavering confidence and remarkable dedication shine during challenging times.”
Managing Director of Extra Care, Kris Peach accepted the award on behalf of Housing 21.
The Team Leader (Not for Profit) – Lead Care System Support Officer Georgina Hoare won this award which recognises a team leader who has shown a clear commitment to improving the delivery of care and support within their team.
The judges praised Georgina as a frontrunner for this award: “Georgina was a standout candidate for her outstanding commitment to improving residents’ lives in Extra Care schemes. Her leadership in implementing the Birdie digital care system reflects her infectious positivity and dedication. Georgina’s organisational skills, approachability, and enthusiasm make her a deserving candidate for this award.”
The Care Team Award (Not for Profit) – Central CSSO Birdie Team were the winners in this category. The judges said: “this team significantly enhances residents’ and staff members’ quality of life.”
Housing 21’s scheme Hogshill Gardens in Crawley was also highly commended in this category.
The Housekeeper Award – Karen Cowley, Annette Bone and Karen Phillips at Knaves Court in Walsall were the winners in this category.
The judges said: “The housekeepers at Knaves Court exemplify dedication and innovation, consistently exceeding expectations. Their commitment to resident wellbeing goes beyond their duties, reflected in their thoughtful interactions and the operation of a beloved on-site shop. Their proactive approach and attention to detail leave a lasting positive impression on service users.”
