Housing 21 has “raised the benchmark for older people’s housing” according to this year’s judging panel for the UK Housing Awards, who named the organisation Older People’s Landlord of the Year.

The leading national provider of Extra Care and Retirement Living scooped the award for a second time, having previously won the accolade in 2020.

The awards, hosted by Inside Housing, remain focused on celebrating the achievements from across the UK housing sector.

Bruce Moore, Chief Executive at Housing 21 said: “We are thrilled that Housing 21 has won the award for Best Older People’s Landlord of the Year.
“We are committed to providing an excellent standard of living and care for our residents, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Housing 21.”

As part of the judging panel, experts were drawn from a wide range of organisations and institutions, including housing associations, local authorities and government bodies from across the UK.

The judges praised Housing 21’s Tenancy Gurus initiative which assists residents with financial guidance, providing on-site managers with the tools and training to act as ‘tenancy gurus’ who can help residents sustain their tenancies, last year the initiative helped residents to save £700,000.

“Digital solutions for residents, tenancy ‘gurus’ and proactive housing management to prevent homelessness – Housing 21 has raised the benchmark for older people’s housing”
