Representatives from Housing 21 attended a careers event at Lincoln Castle Academy to inspire potential care employees of the future.
There is a national shortage of people in social care roles due to the myths surrounding jobs in care and the limited opportunities
to develop your career in care. This is why Housing 21 offers its industry-first career pathways, such as the Extra Care Academy and Housing Academy. These dev
elopment programmes help to progress current employees into management positions within the organisation with the
potential to earn £50k+ salaries.
Michelle Whittle, Talent and Recruitment Partner at Housing 21 attended on the day and said: “We have development opportunities and benefits that we are really proud of. We, as an organisation want to recruit people with the same passion to deliver the best service to our residents no matter what role you are in within the organisation.
“This is why recruiting the best people for roles is so important, making sure we attend these types of events to build the brand as an employer to the next generation of candidates.”
The careers event consisted of a ‘speed-dating’ event which involved employers giving their time to meet students and provid
e a range of opportunities available within social care and supported living organisations.
Housing 21 offers a benefits package for Care Worker roles that align with those of its corporate employees, which includes paid annual leave, occupational sick pay and maternity/paternity pay. The Retirement Living and Extra Care provider also offers Care Workers the benefit of working in one fixed location and a pay rate of at least 10 percent more than the National Living Wage against its competitors.
Housing 21 is an Investors in People Platinum organisation and has been ranked top three places to work on Glassdoor for 2024.
