Housing 21 is pleased to announce we have achieved the highest statuses for Governance and Viability from the Regulator of Social Housing.
In March 2022, we regained our G1 status for Governance and retained our V1 rating for Viability.
The ratings reflect a lot of hard work by the organisation to review our operations and processes to ensure that we can demonstrate we are fully compliant from a regulatory perspective and are able to give assurance over all aspects of our activities.
The Governance upgrade from G2 to G1 was also based on an In-Depth Assessment (IDA) that was held at the start of 2022 and looked at all aspects of our governance and oversight, especially from a financial, asset management, and risk perspective.
The IDA found we have strengthened our internal controls assurance framework, introduced new processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy on board reporting and that we have enhanced oversight of all our key risks. The additional controls we have implemented will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relating to rents and service charges.
Housing 21 Chief Executive Bruce Moore said: “I would like to thank everyone across the organisation for their hard work to get us back to the highest regulatory standard of G1/V1. This positions us well to continue to develop and grow on strong foundations.”
