Celebrations are in full swing in Willenhall as Housing 21’s Extra Care scheme, Winehala Court received a rating of ‘Good’ in their latest inspection.

The scheme received their latest inspection by The Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their last inspection in 2017 where the scheme was also rated ‘Good’ by inspectors. Their latest report highlights the support its employees provide residents, observing them to be “kind and friendly when interacting with people”.

A resident at Winehala Court said: "[Staff member name] goes beyond the call of duty, they will do anything for you. If I have any worries, I always talk to them. All staff are kind and polite."

Asha Kailla, Housing and Care Manager at Winehala Court said: “We are proud to receive another ‘Good’ CQC rating and be recognised for the work we do. Our Care Team works hard to support our residents and each other, to be able to give our residents the best experience living at Housing 21.

“We have a lot of pride in our work and our scheme; we say that we are like a family and that shows in our CQC report”.

The report states that people felt safe while receiving care at the scheme and that “staff had received training in safeguarding” and knew how to escalate concerns. Inspectors went on to say: “People and relatives were positive about their support and expressed confidence in the management of the service.”

The Extra Care scheme offers independent living with access to 24/ 7 care for residents who require it and also has a range of onsite facilities, including a restaurant, salon and great outdoor spaces including a vegetable patch and greenhouse.
